Day 17: 365 Days of Motivation for Widows

“You must motivate yourself EVERYDAY.”  — Matthew Stasior

No one cares more about your health and life than you. No one cares more about your kids than you. No one can motivate you to do something you don’t want to do or are not sure you want to do. People can listen to you vent and they can help you cry. They can make you supper, wash your clothes, and babysit your kids. No one, but no one can motivate you. You have to decide you are ready to get out of bed, off the couch, and outside. Everyday you have to make the decision to be part of the world.

At first, it is hard! Some days, you will have to motivate yourself minute by minute, or hour by hour. As time moves on, it won’t be so hard. Motivating  yourself creates habits (hopefully good ones), and those habits carry you through the really bad days. There will come a day when those bad are less frequent, and there will even be a day when they are rare. Until then, make every day count. Motivate yourself and do what you know you should do. You choose what that is–this is  your life on your terms at your pace.
